Regeneration Guidelines
Regeneration Guidelines for SS 316L Elements
- Remove the filter element from the housing
after depressuring it and remove gaskets/'O' rings from the element.
The element should be thoroughly washed to remove excess fluid and acidity/alkalinity.
- In case the residue on the element is slimy/oily,
the elements need solvent treatment. This could be achieved by using
a suitablr solvent like IPA, EDC, MDC etc. depending on the nature of
th cake. Necessary precaution should be taken to avoid any fire/health
hazard during this stage.
- The degreased element should then be dipped in hot alkaline solution
containing 15% NaOH and 5% Na2CO3at almost 100°C
for 1 - 2 hours.
- Remove the element and rinse with water to remove alkalinity.
- This element should then be dipped in dilute HNO3 (15% conc.)
at 85°C for 30 minutes.
- This element should later be rinsed with clean water washed with filtered
water which has been filtered to a level finer than the micron rating
of the filter element.
- Element should then be dried in an oven at about 105°C.
- The element is now ready for installation and should be fitted by
putting new gaskets/'O' rings.
You are requested to ensure that proper safety precautions
are followed while handling of both elements as well as alkalies/acids
during regeneration.
